This article shows you how to start a session and capture vine images in the field using the CropX Vision app.
BEFORE YOU START
CropX Vision app is installed and you are logged in
You are in your vineyard near the vines you want to measure
Good lighting helps — avoid very low light or deep shade
STEPS
Open the CropX Vision app.
Tap New Session to begin.
Point your camera at a vine leaf and tap the capture button. Repeat across multiple leaves in the block.
Continue taking photos as you walk or move through the block. There is no limit on images per session.
When you’re done, tap End Session.
The app displays your Average Stress Score for the session in bars. This score is always shown, even without a subscription.
The session uploads automatically to the web dashboard when you have connectivity. Sessions captured offline sync when you reconnect.

TIPS FOR BETTER READINGS
Capture leaves that are fully exposed and representative of the block’s typical condition.
Take readings at a consistent time of day when comparing across dates — early afternoon is a common reference.
Aim for at least 8–10 images per session for a reliable average.
You can take sessions while driving an ATV — speed and mobility are part of the Vision workflow.
EXPECTED RESULT
After ending the session, you see an average stress score in bars. The lower the number, the less water stress your vines are under. Full session details, vine photos, and historical data are visible in the app and on the web once your session is linked to a field with an active subscription.
