How to Locate Hard to Find Sensors

This article will explain how to find sensors in the field.

Locating Your CropX Sensor in Tall Crops

When it’s time to retrieve your CropX hardware, tall crops can make sensors difficult to spot. Here are a few ways to locate them:

  • Update Your App
Ensure your CropX mobile app is updated to the latest version.

  1. Mark the Row
At the start of the season, place flags at the edge of the field to mark the row where your sensor is installed.  It's also a good practice to place additional flags at the sensor location.

  2. Use the “Navigate to Sensor” App Feature
This tool uses GPS to guide you directly to your sensor.

    • Open the CropX mobile app and select Sensors from the bottom menu.

    • Choose the sensor you want to find and tap Navigate to Sensor.

    • Select your preferred navigation app and follow the directions.

      1) Select Sensors from Dashboard Page

      2) Select "Nav" Under the Sensor You Wish to Locate

  3. NEW! Sensor Chirp
If you’re close but can’t see the sensor, use the “chirp” feature to locate it by sound.

    • In the app, open More > Sensor Tools > BLE Scanner > Hit the Megaphone Graphic Next to the Sensor You Wish to Locate.

    • Your sensor will emit a sound to help you find it.

      From the Dashboard > More
      2) Under Devices > Sensor Tools

3) Select BLE Scanner
4) Select the Megaphone Graphic

       4. Contact CropX Support
Our support team can provide updated GPS coordinates for your sensor.
