Below we will look at setting up Google Earth from scratch so you can begin taking advantage of this wonderful too.

1.  To download Google Earth click here.  Google Earth Pro is now FREE

2.  Once Google Earth is downloaded, then proceed to the Tools and Options tab as shown below.

3.  Once you have the options tab open then setup the red outlined regions as they are below.  It is here you will setup the tools for everything we need in Google Earth.

4.  Once you have Google Earth downloaded there are some additional tools you may want to download to enhance your experience working with CropMetrics. They are here below.

Soil Web:   This is the tool that will bring the USDA SSURGO maps and all their information into Google Earth.  Download the SSURGO maps here.  Once it is downloaded it will become a selection option in the drop-down selection tree on the left hand side of Google Earth.

Township, Section, Range:  For a very minimal fee you can download a tool to find TSR.  It is quite handy to find fields if the producer just gives you a TSR instead of a Lat and Lon reading.  It is also nice to go the other way and use Lat and Lon to find TSR.  This is a paid tool but it only cost $.01 for each time you pull up a TSR location.  To download this tool please create an account for yourself in Google Earth and then click here to download this tool.
