TerraSen Installation Guide
TerraSen 50 installation guide
TerraSen 20 in/50 cm
30 in auger
Bar, twist tool
Additional Tools:
Hammer, ~one pound
Bottle of water (optional)
After selecting the proper site, use the auger to drill a pilot hole. Use the bar to
stabilize the auger while pounding it in the ground. The aim is to create a
snug hole as deep as the overall length of the sensor.
It
may be needed to retract the auger once or twice to remove the dirt before it
gets stuck.
The
auger needs to go all the way down to the neck where the head meets the tube.
Gently
insert the sensor in the pilot hole and rotate it clockwise while applying some
downward pressure.
Use
the bar from the auger as twist tool and screw the sensor down to the black
marking. If this goes difficult, some water may be applied as lubricant.
Connect the sensor cable to the pigtail and connect the pigtail to the SDI port of the gateway.
- Blue wire to power
- Brown wire to SDI data
- Black to ground
