How to Charge a V4 CropX Sensor
The CropX sensor must be charged periodically.
The V4 sensor comes with a removable battery that you can re-charge. You can also purchase additional batteries to have on hand so you can swap them out in the field.
(Our legacy CropX sensor doesn't have a removable removable battery, so the entire sensor will need to be extracted in order to be charged.)
Prerequisites
- A CropX Sensor or CropX Telemetry
- Charging cable (your hardware should have come with one)
- Charger to connect to charging cable
- Outlet connected to electricity
To Charge the V4 CropX Sensor or CropX Telemetry
- Remove the charging socket cover on the CropX Sensor or open the door on the Telemetry.
Remove the black battery
battery- Connect the USB cable to the battery's USB cable port (cable provided) and connect to any USB power adapter.
- Allow the battery to fully charge for at least 12-24 hours, or until the light changes to green
- Place battery back in unit, you will hear an audible chirp when the battery is in place.
- Place cover back on unit.
To Charge the Legacy CropX Sensor
- Gently remove the 5 screws on top of sensor.
- Remove the charging socket cover.
- Connect the USB cable to the USB cable port (cable provided) and connect to any USB power adapter.
- Allow the sensor to fully charge for at least 12-24 hours, or until the light changes to green (or flashing blue depending on the version).
- Before reattaching the charging socket cover, make sure the rubber gasket is in place.
If Recharging with a Power Bank:
The Specifications should be:
- Output: DC 5V
- Capacity: At least 11000 mAh
