How to Use the Subscription Management System (SUSE)

Understanding the Subscription Management System (SUSE)

The Subscription Management System (SUSE) is where you view and manage subscription credits for your CropX devices. You use SUSE to see which devices are active, which are in inventory, and when subscriptions expire.

This article explains how SUSE works, how to access the dashboard, and how to understand the information shown there.

How subscriptions and credits work

When a device ships to you, it includes a First Time Subscription (FTS).

  • An FTS is permanently attached to the device and cannot be transferred.

  • The FTS is valid for three years.

  • It activates automatically when you complete the installation wizard in the CropX App.

After a device has been used for the first time, it requires a Renewal Credit to reactivate it for a new season.

  • Renewal credits activate a device for one year (365 days).

  • Renewal credits never expire.

  • You can purchase renewal credits at any time by contacting your Support Team.

Prerequisites

Before you access SUSE, make sure the following conditions are met:

  • One user at your company or farm has been assigned access to the SUSE system.

    • This is usually the person who logs into the CropX App regularly and manages the soil sensor fleet.

  • You are logged into the CropX App on a computer.

    • The SUSE system is only available in the web version of the App.

How to view the subscription dashboard

  1. Open a web browser.

  2. Log in at

Subscription status

  • In use (paid sub)
Devices that are active and have a paid subscription.

  • In use (unpaid sub)
Devices that are active without a paid subscription.
This indicates that your credit balance is zero and additional credits are required.

  • Total subscriptions
The total number of active devices, including both paid and unpaid subscriptions.

  • In inventory (no sub)
    Deactivated devices stored in inventory.
Devices in inventory do not require a credit.

  • Total devices
The total number of devices on your account, including in-use and inventory devices.

  • Credit balance
The number of available credits on your account.

    • First Time Subscription (FTS) credits are device-specific and valid for two years after fulfillment.

    • Renewal credits never expire.

Troubleshooting and common questions

I don’t see the Subscription Dashboard in the menu

Contact your Support Team.
In some cases, the dashboard has not yet been associated with an email address.

My device shows no data and tells me to contact Support

This usually means there are not enough credits available.

If a device’s subscription expires and no renewal credits are available, the device shuts off within 14 days.

I keep receiving emails about SUSE and sensor reactivation

This is expected.

  • If you added credits before the season started, devices automatically pull from your credit balance when they expire.

  • If an email indicates that no credits remain, you need to purchase additional credits.

Contact your Support Team to place an order.

Why can only one person access the Subscription Dashboard?

The dashboard is tied to a single paying entity, which is associated with one email address.

Multiple people can still receive SUSE-related email notifications. This helps your team monitor credit usage and renewal timing.

To add additional notification recipients, contact your Support Team.

It’s the end of the season, but the dashboard still shows sensors in use

To move a sensor back to inventory, you must deactivate it at the end of the season.

Deactivate the sensor in the CropX App on your mobile device. Here's how: https://help.cropx.com/portal/en/kb/articles/deactivating-a-sensor
Once deactivated, the sensor will not automatically pull a renewal credit when the expiration date occurs
